Being in the beauty industry for ten years now, Zandile Purity Khumbula (31) who is famously known as Zahis a successful, professional and self-taught Makeup Artist & Hairstylist- Born and Raised in the ‘Heart of Umlazi’ which is one of the biggest locations in Durban.

Her everyday dedication, passion and consistency towards her craft has assisted Zah in building a solid clientele which has not only enabled the businesswoman to create a name for herself but further gain the respect she deserves as a professional Makeup Artist & Hairstylist.

A Beauty Queen in her own right, her studio- Zah.StoreDbn (Umlazi) has managed to associate itself with major brands. “Im still overwhelmed by the opportunities and experiences. Working alongside brands and entities such as:  Sabc’s Super Sport Magazine Show, Mzansi Magic’s-UThando Nesthembu, EThekwini Municipality, Media Personality & Vocalist – Mazulu, Gagasi FM’s Radio Broadcaster Zola Zeelovin and many more”, she proudly boasts.

Being mobile has assisted the Beauty Guru towards leaving her glow within every location visited since  she also specialises in Graduations, Weddings and Matriculation Dances. “There’s no occasion too big or too small for me, business is business and I handle my business with class whilst satisfying my clients needs”, she says.

Wife to her long-time husband Sihle Khumbula and Mother to her handsome son- Uyena, Zah multitasks perfectly from being a family women to a career women on a daily basis.

 

“I am seriously blessed with a husband who supported me from day one and I’m blessed with a son who understands my job comes with traveling away from home”, she says.

On her drive for Makeup: “I believe I shall enter the gates of heaven because of how I managed to transform people lifes”, she jokes. ‘The Before and After moments’ are always magical due to the power of makeup as well as the artist”.

Due to her reputation and trusted brand, Zah has been fortunate to have ethical and good working relationships with well known cosmetic brands such as: Revlon SA, Clinique SA, Mac SA, Fit Me SA which are her trusted branded products she keeps clients satisfied and glamorously at all occasions.

Speaking about her biggest accomplishments, Zah says: “Before Zah.StoreDbn became what it is,it was known as the Beaut Space Hair Sudio and I managed to partner up with alcoholic beverage- Redd’s SA to assist with the activation of my store.

“Fast forward into 2019, I revamped and relaunched the studio to showcase what I can do and offer the brand. I changed the logo and name of the brand together with touches of Pink and Gold.

I further managed to partner up with Bernini South Africa where we launched the store with a event called, ‘Intimate With The Media’. The turnout was amazing and a success which shocked many because they didn’t believe that I could turn my dreams into a reality”.

Zah’s aim through out her career is to provide excellent customer experience. Her level of professionalism has identified her as a businesswomen with a trusted brand hence the growing spirit she continues to exude.. From Makeup, Hairstyling and selling High-Quality Hair, it is clearly evident that this Umlazi Queen is a Beauty Legend in the making!
