For the past 10 weeks the biggest premium beer brand in Africa, Castle Lite, has served South Africans with the first-ever digital satirical news show in the country. The Lite Show is a fun and lite-hearted take on news and current affairs hosted by Donovan Goliath alongside the hilarious duo that is Mojak Lehoko and Lihle Msimang.

The comedian and TV personality joined forces with Africa’s biggest premium beer brand, Castle Lite to launch South Africa’s first-ever YouTube news talk show. The 12-episodes online show has been a mix of celebrity interviews, music and lots of comedy. Comedians Lihle Msimang and Mojak Lehoko as well as rapper, Rouge have starred alongside Donovan to ensure South Africans, home and abroad enjoy the humorous content . The show has featured celebs like Riky Rick, Cassper Nyovest, Rasta the artist and a few others.

The show has been all about “bringing the hottest guests, talking about real news and doing it in a fun and lite way,” shared Franscoe Bouwer, the Marketing Manager at Castle Lite. Its all about bringing lite, exciting and epic fun, news to the fans which has made it the biggest beer YouTube page in Africa. “We wanted to bring on guests that were really blowing up and topical, but never had the opportunity to share who they were. A guest like Rasta was extremely exciting because everyone knew of him, but nobody knew him. Getting to know him as a person and why he paints and does what he does, was really exciting.”

The show has received a greenlight for the second season and we can only look forward to another ice-cold production by the cast and crew.
