Pro Audio #ChooseToChallenge in Support of International Women’s Day with SA’s Finest Professional Female DJs/Artists

For the month of March, in celebration of International Women’s Day, Pro Audio has created a platform in support of the 2021 #ChooseToChallenge campaign. This initiative/platform was created to profile and celebrate the incredible women in the electronic music industry in South Africa, powered by DJ Heaven and Pioneer DJ.

Hosted at the luxurious Houghton Hotel by purist and strictly vinyl DJ Abby Nurock, interviews and explorative discussions were held with several of South Africa’s top female DJs and industry personalities including Metro FM’s Mat Elle, Kimmy K, 5FM’s Nicole Da Silva, Si’Noir, DJ Buhle, Tamara Dey, Joy Steffens,  Karma Luna, Davina Satori and Roz Agnew.

Throughout March you can expect two in-depth panel discussions, as well as inspiring individual interviews with accompanying DJ mixes. The content that will air throughout March on the Pioneer DJ SA and Pro Audio social media pages for the public to enjoy, was curated by DJ Heaven.

The interviews and panel discussions explore broad themes aimed at empowering and creating successful female artists. The topics expressed throughout this initiative by Pioneer DJ SA and Pro Audio include a discussion of the ladies’ careers and journeys so far in this exhilarating industry, their favourite Pioneer DJ products and features, empowering and reinventing themselves in the pandemic, the challenges they face in the industry, what it takes to be a professional DJ with a thriving career and much more. The ladies also explore the imperative discussion on inequality-related topics and other social dilemmas including gender-based violence and femicide and how as empowered women, together with the men of the industry can pull together and make a difference.
