Gospel Sensation, M’abatho Mashaba Releases New Single To End Year On A Note of Hope
Well-loved and highly-acclaimed South African gospel singer M’abatho Mashaba has released a brand new single titled ‘Mobagona’ as we draw closer to the Christmas season.
This moving track is what fans have been waiting for with baited breath since her 2019 releases, namely ‘Ya dumelang’, ‘O Mohlodi’ , ‘Wamuhle’ and ‘Yahweh’. Both her debut album ‘Le Šomile’ and her live album ‘Intimate Moments of worship’ were well-received by all.
‘Mobagona’ is a soft gospel ballad which ebbs and flows and builds and swells with passion and emotion. About the song, M’abatho says, “It talks about the fact that God is there and that he has always been there and is ever present. God is the creator that was there before time began and he will be there even after. He has given us the advocate we need through Jesus. So this song celebrates who Jesus is and all of who God is.”
M’abatho describes the inspiration behind this song as being the love of Christ and his selflessness and generosity (his grace).
“2020 has been a very strange year with so much uncertainty,” says M’abatho. “But it’s amazing when you look back at the year that was. You know that no one could have prepared us for the year that was coming, and you realise that God has still kept us, even in the midst of this dark cloud which we feel is above us. He is still our hope in a hopeless world with people losing their jobs, their homes and their loved ones. You still hear God say that he loves us and he has a future for us. As the song says, Jesus is the answer. And I take courage in saying that I know a God who knows beyond 2020.”
‘Mobagona’ is part of M’abatho’s upcoming album, with details to follow in the near future.
With this new song, M’abatho’s message to her fans and followers is: “We’ve come this far by God, and God still has a plan for your life and wants to take you somewhere. You have a specific purpose.”
This single is furthering the purpose of this mesmerising minister and songstress and she spreads love and faith to all in a time when it is needed most.
