On Saturday 29 August 2020, The Izimbali Zase Masibini Team visited Malaika Orphanage in Hillbrow as part of their recently launched project for women and girls. Mbali Msibi, the founder of the NGO, said they chose Malaika because they are not getting enough support at the moment.

Malaika Orphanage Center, a non-profit organization with the interest to help children, mostly orphans, vulnerable children in disadvantaged areas by providing basic services, these include education, clothing, food, and other programs that are beneficial to the development of children and teenagers.

Mbali Msibi, who is also a human resource management student, guitarist, performer, and a philanthropist is passionate about changing people’s lives also mentioned that they didn’t only donate essential groceries to the charity home but also spoke to the older girls finding out the issues they are facing and how they can provide more assistance to them.

The KZN raised Philanthropist also said she is all about women and children, there’s nothing I desire more than living in a world where people are just doing well and flourishing in all aspect of their lives.

Mbali, who has survived dejection before, said she was confused about who she was and it was people like her who motivated her. People believed in her even when she didn’t believe in herself.

“My story motivated me to start a foundation to bring hope to young people with services that are specifically designed to empower them. I do want to leave this world a better place than I found it. I want to say to young people that help is available, do not give up, do not give in,” said Mbali.
