THE ULTIMATE WEDDING AFFAIR:

TASTIC RICE AND DAVID TLALE ARE GIVING AWAY A DRESS!

Tastic Rice and David Tlale are making one lucky bride’s dreams come true by giving away a traditional wedding dress that was showcased as part of his SS20 Collection at AFI Fashion Week in Johannesburg.

With the festive season also being synonymous with wedding season in South Africa, it was only fitting that this be a time of giving and celebration for these two South African mega-brands. No wedding is complete without the perfect menu – which Tastic rice is usually a part of – and no wedding is complete without the perfect showstopping dress!

This beautiful celebration was attended by notable guests who were dressed to impress in their heritage inspired outfits. Spotted were Mthoko ‘Swenka’, Tracy Hlophe, Dj Sithelo who got the party going after the formal proceedings were over. The beautiful dress was worn by Zama Gcaba also known as Black Barbie. The menu for this auspicious day was curated by Chef Lenstwe who ensured the guests had a proper feast.

The print from which the dress is made is inspired by a uniquely South African story of heritage and a celebration of our various cultures. “I created the dress with the bride that would win it in mind. I wanted to capture the essence of the meeting of two families and the merging of their heritage, and the spirit of celebration that surrounds the wedding day” said David Tlale.

“Every bride deserves a couture moment and I’m excited to make one special bride’s dreams come to life,” Tlale continues.

The dress was showcased as part of a collection that pays homage to David’s recently deceased mother, and fuses elements of the Tastic Heritage campaign that rolled out during the month of September. The campaign saw David create a special pack that graced shelves for that month.

“The Tastic brand is all about celebrating life’s special occasions, and there are few moments bigger than one’s wedding” says Thembi Sehloho, Marketing Director for Rice and Pasta at Tiger Brands.

The competition will be run across national and regional radio as well as social media from October, and the winner will be announced in December 2019.
