The EFF Parliamentary Candidates List Gains Public Favour

The 3rd largest party in the country, the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF)‘s parliamentary candidates list has received compliments from the public. Social media went buzzing just after the list was released, containing names of young peopleand not just young people but the Fees Must Fall generation.

The party’s list came with names of young activists like Vuyani Pambo a Fees Must Fall leader who has always been on the frontline of the protests, Pambo was lately awarded for the category of the best documentary titled ‘Everything Must Fall’ by the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs), Naledi Chirwa an actor as well as a female activist and Peter Keetse the national president of the EFF Student Command (EFFSC).

The party’s list did not give its followers doubts, like the one released by the ruling party the African National Congress (ANC). Although some people would have expected the ANC to also add its youngest bright minds in their list but the party took unexpected twist by adding the likes of Bathabile Dlamini, Malusi Gigaba, Musebenzi Zwane and Nomvula Mokonyane.

Besides the fact that these people have either faced challenges in the past, the party could do with some fresh blood representing them in parliament. It is not a secret that some of the party’s members of parliament are over 40 years of age.

Both parties are actively campaigning for these upcoming general elections, with the EFF wanting to make its way to government and the ANC wanting to stay in power. The EFF will be hosting its KZN manifesto launch at the Chatsworth sports field, Durban on the 24 of March this year.
